“Just to say the evening was a great success and the band were superb. So many people were saying how good the band were and asked us where we found them. What was good was that they played a mix of music knowing that a break was required after a couple of ceilidh dances for people to recover – so they played either contemporary music or folk, a really nice mixture.  So many, many thanks indeed for finding them.”
Alistair, Feb 2017 (party, Wild Clover)

“They were incredibly professional, very flexible and very talented – they really got the party going and all our guests commented on how good they were!  Tom and the band learnt two new songs especially for our wedding which really was a highlight of the whole day.”
Thank you again,
Ruth and Jonathan, Dec 2016 (The Groovitive)

“Just wanted to say thank you to the band for playing at our wedding. It was a great day. I hope they saw how much everyone was enjoying it. The dance floor was never empty. I didn’t realise they were so young – but they are excellent musicians and Ross is a great caller and was very patient, as various people mentioned, with all the oldies who hadn’t a clue!”
Lynn, Dec 2016 (Fiddle Paradiddle)

“Thanks to the band for a great night of dancing. We couldn’t have been happier and got lots of great feedback from friends and family.”
Fiona, September 2015 (wedding, The Sassenachs)

“We enjoyed the concert and would very much like to hear about upcoming appearances. I thought they were both fabulous musicians and the nicest sort of performers – confident without taking themselves too seriously.”
audience member, July 2015, (Music Unwrapped at The Highbury, Cymbiotic Percussion Duo)

“Just to say a huge thank you for setting us up with Ceilidh Tree for our event last night. They were absolutely cracking and made the party a real success. What a lovely group of people too! Many people were already asking when they could go to another dance!”
Olivia, July 2015  (Cantus Ensemble Social Event, Ceilidh Tree)

“Really interesting to see the harp so close and to hear how it works (also the marimba at a previous concert).  Very good programme for a mixed audience. Two excellent players. ‘Nigun’ was outstanding.”
Michael Dewsbury, Judy Dewsbury, November 2014 (Music Unwrapped at The Highbury, Zamira Violin and Harp Duo)

“We’re just back from our honeymoon (which was lovely and relaxing) and just wanted to say a massive thank you to Emily and the band (I forget the name of the caller but he was great) for coming along and rocking our wedding! They coped amazingly well with such a large and rowdy crowd, many of whom were ceilidh inexperienced and needed extra pointers! They really made the party. Everyone loved the ceilidh and we couldn’t get over how many people wanted to join in.”
Tasha and Chris, September 2014

“The silent movie night was a big hit with all the family enjoying it, especially the youngest (7 and 10). What a surprise that was!”
Mark Bayley, September 2014 (Music Unwrapped at The Highbury, Silent Movies and live piano)

“Amazing talent; friendly, engaging performers and a great venue.  An inspiring evening.  Looking forward to the next one!”
Erin James, July 2014 (Music Unwrapped at The Highbury, Flamenco Trio)

“Just wanted to say thank you for the piper on Saturday. You would not believe the atmosphere in the room when we were announced as the new Mr & Mr Cabble-Reid and the piper started to play in the gardens. People cried…a lot!!”
Martin Cabble, June 2014 (wedding)

“The weather made the [golf] day even sweeter, but for many, the icing on the cake was the musical accompaniment provided by Dilys Garrod’s company, Professional Music Events.  Jeremy Clay and Matt Churchouse provided trumpet and keyboards respectively as the players came in from their round of golf and so many commented on how delightful it was to be greeted by mellow music.  I would thoroughly recommend Professional Music Events to anyone looking to add an extra quality touch to their events.”
Peter Berry, May 2014 (Moseley Golf Club Charity Event)

“Maintaining your usual exceptionally high standard – even the bass player was a virtuoso!”
Phil Jackman, May 2014 (Music Unwrapped at The Highbury, Tom Lindsay Quartet)

“I had the pleasure of attending Dilys’ Cymbiotic music event at the Highbury last week – what a fantastic evening!  I had no idea what to expect but the quality of the musicians and their skills and enthusiasm were amazing.  It was a very memorable evening – thanks Dilys!”
Dawn Adlam, April 2014 (Music Unwrapped at The Highbury, Cymbiotic Percussion Duo)

“Thank you so much for organising the entertainment, it was a great success. You made my life so much easier by taking that on for us.”
Graham Hardy, Head Teacher Calthorpe School, Jan 2014 (The Groovitive, at evening entertainment celebrating Ofsted success)

“I attended the event on Sunday at the Rook Lane Chapel [Arts Centre] in Frome and I have to say that I was absolutely blown away by both yourself and James!  I thought you guys were outstandingly awesome and just utterly and thoroughly brilliant …  I’ve never been to a performance like that before and I can honestly say that it was one of the most entertaining and enjoyable evenings I’ve had for ages!! Plus I got to see instruments which I’ve never even heard of before so it was also an educational experience … All the pieces you played were truly wonderful and it was good to have such an eclectic mix of sounds and styles.  The jazz-style piece was amazing … A big, BIG thank you for coming to Frome to perform and making my day!  And I’m sure everyone else’s. “
Liz Brooke, Frome, Somerset, 2012 (Cymbiotic Percussion Duo)

Cymbiotic Percussion Duo at Shepton Mallett

“Amazing to listen to, and such fun too!”
“Amazing!  I’ve never seen anything like it!”
Audience members, Shepton Mallet, Somerset 2012 (Tansy Bennett, violin, and Cymbiotic Percussion Duo)

“I have had the pleasure of working with Cymbiotic for almost 3 years – they regularly provide live music concerts in public spaces of Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals.  As a duo they always ensure musical excellence, engagement of the audience, and absolute professionalism from the initial booking stages to the delivery of the concerts.  I couldn’t recommend them highly enough.”
Yvonne Farquharson, Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals

“[Nathan Richards] has played for me on countless occasions … to the highest professional level.  Nathan is one of the best young prospects we have ever had at the Royal Academy of Music.”
Professor James Watson, Head of Brass at the Royal Academy of Music, former Principal of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the Royal Opera House Covent Garden (Nathan Richards, trumpet)

“Chris is a truly talented member of the new wave of trumpet players who have entered the scene in the last few years; his flexibility, musicality and diversity of styles makes him one to watch.”
Anthony Adams (Chris Snead, trumpet)

Trio Anima (flute, viola, harp)

“Exquisitely crafted performance. All the necessary musical elements were in place and technical considerations were taken as read – and then, there was texture, subtlety and real magic. The rapport between the group was tangible yet discreet – nothing was overdone and all was in the service of the music. A genuine treat that is rare among professionals.”
Eric Crees, Principal Trombone of London Symphony Orchestra & Orchestra of the Royal Opera House Covent Garden (Trio Anima, flute, harp and viola)

Prima Volta Improvisation Trio

“Absolutely loved your concert yesterday … You three are very very clever and I really hope you come to Aldeburgh again.”
“Thoroughly enjoyed your concert at St Martins this week.  I am very keen for my two grandchildren to come to one of your performances.”
“Guys, amazing performance today.  I had never thought that James Bond theme and a Bourree can come into the same concert … so brilliantly!  Bold music is yours!”
Juliet, Nick, Dani (audience members) (Prima Volta improvisation ensemble, viola, flute and trombone)
